Volcan Mountain Foundation Welcomes New Board Members
The Volcan Mountain Foundation is delighted to welcome two new members to the Board of Directors to start 2014. Educators, Kris & Liz Jacobsen, got a sneak preview of the variety of programs and activities on which the VMF board and staff are working on when they attended the Annual Board Retreat at the Pinto Ranch Retreat Center in December. In January they were officially invited to the join the board by unanimous decision. Kris is an Outdoor Educator at the San Diego County Office of Education's Camp Cuyamaca, and Liz teaches at Spencer Valley School. Both facilities have provided great board members and supporters of the Foundation for many years, and have been great partners. Kris is already bringing his interest and enthusiasm to bear on the Resource Managment Committee, while Liz is sharing her talents with the Education-Outreach Committee. We look forward to the contributions that this energetic young couple will bring to the VMF board.
One door opens as another closes. VMF wishes Dr. Meili Pinto well as she steps down from the board to focus on several projects in her field of study. Dr. Pinto has always provided an eloquent philosphy to seeing, sharing and protecting nature.
If you have a passion for Volcan Mountain, and time and talents to share, please contact the VMF office (760-765-2300 or [email protected]) for information on board member and committee positions.
