Blackberry Picking Part 1: Saturday, August 17, 2019 - Santa Ysabel East Preserve
Saturday, August 17th: Join park staff for an easy three-mile round trip hike into Santa Ysabel East Preserve for blackberry picking. Yes -- they are an invasive plant so you are helping rid the preserve of seeds! It's a pretty tasty way to help out. If you aren't able to join on the 17th, there's a second blackberry picking hike the following weekend on Saturday, August 24th.
Date: Saturday, August 17th
Time: 8:00 am - 10:00 am
Wear: Walking shoes, and long pants are recommended as well because of the blackberry thorns
Bring: Plenty of water, snacks, a pair of gloves, bucket, sunblock, and sun hat.
Meeting Location: Farmer Road Staging Area of Santa Ysabel Preserve East; 500 Farmer Road, Julian, CA
There's a 90-degree temperature limit. The hike will be canceled if it's over 90-degrees.
