Hike All The Way Across the Santa Ysabel Preserve East, Saturday, April 11th at 9am

Saturday, April 11th, join San Diego County Park Attendant, Bill Augustus along the trails of the Santa Ysabel East Preserve.  Enjoy discussions about the history, plants and wildlife of the preserve, while seeing places in the preserve you normally don’t get to see. Meet at the Santa Ysabel Preserve East-Highway 79 staging area at 9am. From there the group will carpool to the Farmers Road staging area while leaving half the vehicles at Highway 79. The hike will proceed from the east end of the preserve to the west. The group will stop at several scenic spots along the Santa Ysabel Creek along the way. At the end of the hike, the group will carpool back up to the farmers staging area and pick up the vehicles left there.

This hike will include an elevation gain and loss of approximately 1,500 feet in 8 miles. The total hike distance will be approximately 8 miles. Wear sturdy hiking shoes, and bring plenty of water, a hat, sunscreen and wear sun protective clothing. This hike will be canceled if it rains. Please contact the County Rangers at 760-765-4098 for any updates.
