Hike | RT Distance | Elevation Gain | Meet Location |
---|---|---|---|
Hike to the Source of the San Dieguito River | 3.0 miles | 1,200' | Santa Ysabel East Farmer Road Parking (1.2 miles north of Wynola Rd intersection) |
Join San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy and Volcan Mountain Foundation Executive Directors, Trish Boaz and Eric Jones, on a 3-mile leisurely but uphill hike/walk to Ironside Spring ― the source of the San Dieguito River. There is no cost for this fun partnering event between SDRVC and VMF.
Come with water, food, proper gear for the day's weather, and prepared to enjoy the day! We'll be walking mostly on roads up the tree-shaded slope, through VMF's Volcan Mountain Nature Center to a beautifully forested area, shaded by incense cedars and mature live oaks with chain fern and other water-loving plants dipping their "toes" into the year-round spring.
Please complete the information below and submit a separate registration form for each participant.
