Canyoneers Hike
Sunday, November 6th at 9am please join the Canyoneers for a hike on the Santa Ysabel Preserve East to Kanaka loop. Canyoneers are citizen scientists and volunteers who have had comprehensive training by museum scientists and local experts on the natural history of the region. They offer hikes throughout the region from September 2016 through June 2017. One of the few trail-guide groups nationwide affiliated with a natural history museum rather than a park or reserve, Canyoneers have provided free guided tours in San Diego County since 1973. This hike is easy to moderate with an elevation gain and loss of approximately 500 feet in 1/2 mile. The total hike distance will be approximately 6 miles. Please dress in layers as the temperature can vary. Wear sturdy hiking shoes; bring plenty of water and a snack for the trail. Meet at 9:00 am at the Santa Ysabel East Staging area at the north end of Farmer Road, 114-117 Farmer Road, Julian CA 92036. Inclement weather will cancel event.
